At Watford Grammar School for Girls, we recognise the importance of enabling every student to participate fully in all aspects of school life. Extra-curricular clubs, trips and other activities enrich the lives of our students and are vital for their wellbeing. They give them the opportunity to engage with their peers outside of the classroom whilst broadening their world view.
Year 9 went on a trip to Cambridge to explore the University, learn some new maths and see the city. It was an amazing experience and a potentially life changing trip, opening us to the different opportunities available to us after our WGGS journey and a possible glimpse of our future.

We are proud to offer a wide range of activities beyond the classroom but are also acutely aware of the current cost of living crisis which may exclude many students from participating. Many families across the country have had to cut back on spending and, unfortunately, it is usually the non-essential elements of school life such as trips that are where money can be saved. However, this means that students may miss out on an experience that they will remember and treasure for the rest of their lives.
Our vision as a school is to ensure that chances for a well-rounded education that includes access to lunchtime activities and affordable whole year group trips in Key Stage 3 are available to each student.
The Opportunity Fund has been created to enable this. If you’re proud to be a Watford Girl and would like to help create opportunities for the next generation of students to thrive, please consider donating.
